10 firms that install solar panels across the UK, ranked on what their customers say and checked against the public registers. Every figure is dated, the method is below, and no firm paid for its place.
Evidence read on 1 October 2026. Trustpilot scores move every day, so check the live profile, linked against each firm, before you decide.
The order comes from one public number, Trustpilot's TrustScore, with review count breaking a tie. It measures what past customers report, not the quality of any single installation, and for firms that also fit boilers, heat pumps or EV chargers it covers all of that work, not only solar. Firms listed in the Energy Pages installer directory are left out of this ranking on purpose, so that no member of the directory is ranked against another.

On the evidence read on 1 October 2026, Contact Solar has the highest Trustpilot score (4.8, from 1,452 reviews) among firms that install across the UK, appear on the MCS installer register and have at least 250 reviews. A high score is a record of past customers, not a guarantee, so get more than one quote.
From the 60 firms with the most reviews in Trustpilot's UK solar contractor category, Energy Pages kept those with 250 or more reviews, whose own website says they install across the UK, who appear on the MCS installer register, and who are active at Companies House. Firms listed in the Energy Pages installer directory are excluded. The rest are ordered by TrustScore, with review count breaking ties.
No. Energy Pages does not sell places in its rankings or its articles, and no firm saw this page before it was published. An affiliate or commercial relationship with a firm would not change its position.
Not necessarily. A national firm brings scale and a larger review record; a local firm may be quicker to reach and more flexible. This list covers national firms only. For local MCS-certified installers, use the Energy Pages installer directory by county.
Share a little about the property and Energy Pages will pass it to one MCS-certified installer covering your area.
